The Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis has rejected the pleas of a man who falsely invoked diplomatic immunity to get out of a speeding ticket.
The man claimed to be the Ambassador of the “Conch Republic”, and to be “Officially Immune From Traffic Infractions”.
The Wall Street Journal reports that
Erring on the side of caution, the trooper issued Mr. Sterling a warning rather than “risk an international incident”, the officer testified.
