The 2017 Translation Conference at the University of Portsmouth, UK deals with the theme “Translation & Disruption: Global and Local Perspectives“. The event will be held on Saturday 4 November 2017.
“… the idea of digital disruption has been causing both excitement and concern in businesses worldwide, from financial and legal services to entertainment distribution and the taxi industry. The world of translation is not immune to such upheavals and the notion of digital disruption is useful for understanding changes in translation practice.”
This year there will also be a pre-conference seminar on Friday 3 November 2017, including a panel discussion and public lecture, both on the subject of machine translation, followed by a networking reception brining together researchers and industry stakeholders.
For more details, see the conference website here. Deadline for proposals is 15 June 2017, so hurry, hurry!
