eCPD Webinars is offering a webinar entitled “International Financial Reporting Standards – an Introduction for Translators and Interpreters” on 20 September 2017. It will last for approximately 75 minutes.

“This language-neutral introduction to IFRSs provides an overview of the standards, the translations and their application, as well as offering guidance on how to research IFRSs and identify relevant resources. It also addresses some underlying financial translation principles and policies that can provide a practical framework for translating IFRS reports, irrespective of the source and target languages.”

Robin Bonthrone has been a full-time German>English financial-legal translator for over 25 years, specialising in financial accounting and reporting (IFRSs, German and Austrian GAAP), audit, assurance and advisory, tax law, and financial sector regulation and supervision. He was joint coordinator of the German version of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) for several years and translates the German Accounting Standards for the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany. He is an experienced financial translation trainer and lecturer and is also currently co-chair of the FIT ISO Standards Committee.
