Jobs at the International Court of Justice – apply quickly!

Reading of the Judgment of the ICJ in the case Germany v. Italy (Greece intervening), on 3 February 2012 / Lecture de l’arrêt de la CIJ en l’affaire Allemagne c. Italie (Grèce intervI have been informed that applications are being sought by the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands for the following two jobs (and others).

Firstly, a French mother tongue translator:

“Traducteur de langue maternelle française – Sous la supervision du chef du département des affaires linguistiques, le candidat retenu assurera notamment la traduction de l’anglais vers le français de documents de la Cour, tels que pièces de procédure, comptes rendus des audiences tenues par la Cour, projets d’arrêt, notes et opinions de juges, correspondance diplomatique, procès-verbaux des séances de la Cour, notes et mémorandums internes, etc. Il sera en outre appelé à s’acquitter de toutes autres tâches qui pourraient lui être confiées par le chef du département, telles que recherches terminologiques, établissement de glossaires ou rédaction de procès-verbaux.” For more information click here. Secondly, a Senior Legal Officer/First Secretary of the Court:

“The incumbent, working under the overall supervision of the Principal Legal Secretary (Head of the Department of Legal Matters), will assist the Court in its judicial activity and provide other legal assistance to Members of the Court and the Registrar.” For more information click hereDeadline 9 February 2013.
