Monday smile – Tuna bonds

Am I alone in thinking that the financial instrument “tuna bonds” sounds quite funny? 😂

When the latest Lexology update popped into my inbox – “FCA Fine Credit Suisse £147m and Obtain Undertaking from Bank to Forgive $200m of Mozambican State Debt in Respect of Tuna Bonds Scandal” – I just had to find out more.

Unfor-tuna-tely, the reality is far less humorous, leading to Mozambique, “one of the world’s poorest countries” losing out on international investment support. More details can be found from the website of the well-known chambers involved.

A lost Oper-tuna-ty for some fun though – “fishy dealings”, “rotten to the albacore”…
