For the first time, a conference is being organized by eight language associations from four Scandinavian countries. The event is entitled SLAM!2016, to take place on Saturday 24 September 2016, and the theme is Promoting Professionalism in a Changing Market.
The organisers ask: “As language service providers, how do we adapt to changing market conditions? What can we do to promote professionalism on the individual, Scandinavian and global level?”
Although not specifically about legal translation, many items on the programme are relevant for specialists. In particular: ethics; regulation; ISO standards; and the EU Directive on the Right to Interpretation and Translation in Criminal Proceedings, as well as sessions on professionalism and business practice.
Download the flyer here, and see the conference website for more information.
