A Big Announcement!

Microfono tenuto in mano conferenzaDear Readers, I have an important announcement for you. 🙂 WordstoDeeds goes from virtual to physical!

As many of you will know, the blog has been around since 2011, and has built up a community of loyal followers (thank you all so much) who regularly share expertise, news, resources and training.

Being passionate about the professionalization of legal translation, and also about continuing professional development, the next step was to address the gap in regular events for practitioners with a conference that reflects the philosophy of the blog: high-quality and authoritative content, openness, and, last but not least, incorporating plenty of smiles.

So… I am delighted to announce

The First Words to Deeds Conference 2017: Legal Translation to the Next Level

The overall aim of the conference is to bring together practitioners from translation and the law with cutting-edge academics in the field, and to provide high quality CPD (continuing professional development), as well as initiating conversations across the three groups.

The programme is brimming, to maximise the one-day event, to be held on 4 February 2017.

We have a wonderful venue – one of the Inns of Court, in the heart of legal London.

You can find out more from the conference website, and booking is through Eventbrite here or through the registration page of the conference website. We are able to offer a substantial discount for early bird booking, as it will help to reduce organizational costs.

The conference Twitter hashtag is #W2D2017.

All that remains for me is to say let’s make this a roaring success, and roar to the world out there that legal translators exist, and are a force to be reckoned with!
