The Department of Legal, Language, Translation and Interpreting Studies at the University of Trieste is organising a conference entitled “Legal translation: academia and practice in dialogue” from 1 to 2 December 2022 – which will also be streamed.
The conference’s main aim is to provide a forum for dialogue between scholars and practitioners with a shared interest in legal translation. The conference starts on Thursday, 1 December 2022, at 15:00, and ends on Friday, 2 December 2022, at 18:00. The conference will consist of three panels and the papers will be delivered in Italian or in English.
The first panel will be devoted to the legal translation market and will host professionals working either as in-house or as freelance translators.
The second panel will focus on legal translation in academia and will feature scholars from various European universities who teach and research in this field.
The third panel will address institutional translation and will bring together translators working for Italian governmental bodies and European institutions as well as representatives of professional associations.
The conference will close with the presentation and opening of the new edition of the Master programme in Legal Translation.
