Following my post last week about traineeships at the Court of Justice of the European Union, today I want to tell you about paid traineeships of 5 months with executive bodies and agencies of the European Commission, starting on either 1st March or 1st October.
“Trainees will receive a monthly grant of some €1,120 and reimbursement of travel expenses. Accident and health insurance can also be provided. There are about 1,300 places available each year. Selected candidates get hands-on experience in the international and multicultural environment.
Trainees work all over the European Commission. The content of the job largely depends on the service they are assigned to, and they may, for example, work in the field of competition law, human resources, environmental policy.”
Please note that although these placements are very relevant to future legal translators as they involve working in a multilingual and multicultural legal environment, they do not involve translation per se.
