Tradulínguas, based in Lisbon, Portugal, and organizers since 2005 of online training and webinars, as well as in-person translation workshops and conferences, are offering an e-learning course on legal translation, in the language pair English/Portuguese.
The trainer is Dr. Ana Soares, an excellent speaker that I can vouch for, having experienced her skills in person. She is registered as a lawyer in Portugal and as a solicitor with the Law Society of England and Wales, and teaches legal concepts at the Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração in Lisbon, as well as being a legal translator.
More details about the course can be found here. Deadline for applications is 13 February 2014.

By the way, Tradulínguas also organized an excellent legal translation conference in 2011, that hopefully will be repeated in the not too distant future.

Regarding disclosure, I have no commercial relationship of any kind with the company Tradulínguas, and provide the above details purely for information purposes.
Thank you for a really great blog. I am currently doing an MA in translation studies (distance learning) and would be interested in specific training in legal translation. I initially planned on doing some of the courses offered by City University London but as you know these have been discontinued. There seems be no e-learning training in legal translation in my language pair (French to English), with the exception of a few webinars but it all feels very piecemeal. Do you have any suggestions of how to go about training for this specialisation in my language pair?
Hi Tracy,
Thanks for your kind words about the blog.
Perhaps we can get some ideas from the community on this – in a similar way to Gbemi’s question last autumn (the post “A reader’s request for help”
