Extra pre-conference event and speaker at #W2D2017
It is my sincere pleasure to announce that the closing keynote of the conference #W2D2017 Legal Translation to the Next Level will be delivered by Henry Liu, President of the International Federation of Translators and Special Advisor to the Chief Justice of New Zealand. His talk is entitled “The Case Against Plain Language“.

International Translation Day / la Journée mondiale de la traduction is an annual initiative of the FIT (Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs / International Federation of Translators) – an international grouping of associations of translators, interpreters and terminologists. More than 100 professional associations and training institutes are affiliated, representing more than 80,000 translators in 55 countries. The goal of the Federation is to promote professionalism in the disciplines it represents.

Call for papers – Disruption and Diversification, XXI FIT Congress
The XXI FIT (International Federation of Translators) Congress will be held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia from 3-5 August 2017. The emphasis will be on issues relating to disruption and diversification in all the fields of translation and interpreting.
The 2017 Congress will highlight the impacts of technology, globalisation, policy and economic change on the delivery of language services, with specific streams for indigenous and sign languages, interpreting in conflict zones, community interpreting and translation, and more.
Conference – Challenges, new roles & ethics in legal translation & interpreting, Lima, Peru
There is one more week to register for the 12th International Forum on Challenges, New Roles and Ethics in Legal Translation and Interpreting, to be held in Lima, Peru from October 7 to 9, 2015.
Translators, interpreters, academics, researchers, and students are invited
to attend the Forum, organised by the International Federation of Translators
(FIT) Committee for Legal Translation and Interpretation
in cooperation with the Colegio de Traductores del Perú (CTP) ; and with the support of Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón, Universidad Ricardo Palma, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, and Universidad César Vallejo.
