English translation of the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure (2nd edition)
Following the success of the first edition, the English translation of the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure has been updated and revised and enriched with a preface by the Italian Minister for Justice.
Although the main purpose of the second edition was to translate both the amended and the new legal provisions that had been added to the Codice, the existing translation was also revised in light of the legislative and linguistic innovations introduced in the European normative framework and the precious feedback received by legal translators who used the first edition.
Course on Contract Translation, Trieste, Italy
I have just been informed that the Department of Legal, Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies at the University of Trieste in Italy is organising a course for professional translators entitled “Translating contracts from English into Italian” from 27 June to 1 July 2016. The deadline for registration is in 5 days, so hurry, hurry!

A new book on legal interpreting entitled L’interprete giuridico has recently been published in Italian by Carocci Editore.
Italian etymology dictionary
To round off the week in the same way we began, here is a resource which I like very much.
According to the introduction by the webmaster, “Il Vocabolario Etimologico della Lingua Italiana di Ottorino Pianigiani” was first published in 1907 in two volumes by Albrighi & Segati, and followed in 1926 by a volume of Aggiunte, corrections and variations (Ariani, Florence). It was then republished on several occasions by different publishers.
Legal Chinese course (in Italian)
Italian speakers may be very interested to know that an introductory one-day course on legal Chinese will be held on 20 April 2013 in Milan, Italy, at the Centro Shaolin.
The course is intended both for legal professionals working internationally and translators.
