A few days ago, The Washington Post, via Professor Eugene Volokh at UCLA School of Law, came up with a little gem from the American statutes – from Joplin, Minnesota actually.
Apparently “crafty science” is illegal there. What’s that, I hear you ask… 🙂
The Institute of Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland is holding its 12th Conference on Legal Translation, Court Interpreting and Comparative Legilinguistics (Legal Linguistics). This year the event is in collaboration with the School of Maritime Studies, Kołobrzeg, Poland and Kołobrzeg will be the venue. The conference will run from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June 2017.
This weekend I discovered that OTTIAQ, the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec had run a large-scale advertising campaign. It is an order with a reserved title representing more than 2,100 members, all of whom are certified language professionals.
