#W2D2017 – One month to go!

onemonthIt seems incredible that time has passed so quickly – there is now only one month until the First Words to Deeds Conference 2017: Legal Translation to the Next Level. 🙂

The conference is taking place on Saturday 4 February 2017 at Gray’s Inn, in the heart of legal London, and is bookended by events on Friday 3rd and Monday 6th February.

Please note that there are only 15 places left, so registrations may close before the initially planned deadline of end January.

World Legal Translator’s Day

ciceroWe all know that legal translators work outside the limelight, putting extensive skills at the service of corporations, institutions, governments, law firms, and more.

So I thought – how about introducing a Day just for us.  Any awareness-raising should be good, right?

You may ask, why 3 January? Well today marks the birthš of Cicero – perhaps the first legal translator and lawyer-linguist.

Competition languages sought are Spanish, Greek, Italian, Lithuanian, Maltese, and Swedish. Language 2 must be English, and Language 3 must be C1 minimum in French, German, Italian, Polish or Spanish (different from Language 1).
