The Global Legal Skills conference, now at its ninth edition, was held in Europe for the first time in the romantic city of Verona (Italy), the hometown of Romeo and Juliet, on 22-23 May 2014.

Guest post – Summary of European Lawyers Rome Event 2014
Today I am very grateful to Lorena Elena Stanescu for kindly agreeing to give us a flavour of what went on at the European Lawyers Rome Event 2014, held in May.
Lorena is a Romanian lawyer and specializes in contractual issues relating to incoming foreign investment and the energy sector. She is also researching a PhD in Comparative Private Law, analyzing the legal traditions of France, Germany and Sweden. Lorena has a great interest in languages and, as well as her native language, speaks English, French, German, and Italian.

The Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Translators (TEPIS), in cooperation with its partners, is holding an international conference New Tasks for Legal Interpreters and Translators in the Enlarged Europe, from 3-5 April 2014 in Kraków, Poland. Early bird registration until 15 February.
It will coincide with the General Assembly of EULITA (European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association) on 5 April 2014.
