Born Global is a British Academy project on language skills for employability, trade and business, and is an open and free-to-use resource for the languages community: universities, teachers, employers, researchers, and students.

Following last Friday’s post on the release of the EU translation memories, here is another very useful resource for you.
The Directorate-General for Translation at the European Commission has just released an updated version (eighth edition) of its English Style Guide.
As many of you know, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation and the Joint Research Centre make freely available translation memories which include the majority of the European Union’s legislative documents (Acquis Communautaire) and some other documents not forming part of the Acquis, in 24 EU languages.
The aim is to support multilingualism, language diversity and the re-use of Commission information.
To round off the week I thought I would share with you a recent discovery – a resource made available by Deloitte providing summaries of financial reporting requirements, use of International Financial Reporting Standards and various updates for jurisdictions worldwide.
