The Białystok Legal English Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Białystok, Poland has announced its 3rd international ‘Share and Gain’ workshops for teachers, translators and interpreters of Legal English. They will take place from 6th – 7th September 2018.

Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, together with the European Commission and the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialised Translators (TEPIS) invite participants to a workshop in the series “Translating Europe”.
The event, to be held in Poznań on Saturday and Sunday 9-10 December 2017, on New Technologies in Specialist Translation, is organized by the European Commission and funded by the Directorate-General for Translation.
The Speech Repository is an e-learning tool developed by the Directorate-General Interpretation at the European Commission, to help improve the quality of conference interpreter training.

The Interinstitutional Committee for Translation and Interpretation, the forum for cooperation between the language services of the European Union institutions and bodies, has recently published an updated 24-page guide entitled “Interpreting and translating for Europe“.

The German professional body for translators and interpreters, the BDÜ (Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer) makes available a video of a simulated trial involving German/Italian interpreting.
Monash University in Melbourne, which houses “one of the largest and most prestigious law schools in Australia”, is offering a free MOOC entitled “Law for Non-Lawyers: Introduction to Law”. It provides insights into the common law system, and introduces key legal doctrines and principles in readily accessible formats and language.
“Case studies will illuminate common applications of the law in real life scenarios, enabling you to explore the relevance of specific subjects to your own professional and personal circumstances, and legal jurisdiction.”
Registration is now open for the sixteenth edition of the International Summer School in Forensic Linguistic Analysis, which will be held just before the biennial IAFL (International Association of Forensic Linguists) conference at Porto University from 4 to 8 July 2017 .
