Conference – CIUTI forum 2014

genevaNext year’s CIUTI forum (the International Standing Conference of University Institutes of Translating and Interpreting) will be held from Thursday 16 January 2014 to Friday 17 January 2014, at the United Nations, Palais des Nations,
in Geneva, Switzerland.

Within the setting of an annual conference, usually in Geneva, stakeholders in translator and interpreter (T&I) training, research, and practice are invited to discuss T&I-related problems and solutions, current trends, and anticipated developments.

Conference – Italian interpretations of new EU patent regime

bicoccaFollowing yesterday’s post on the Oxford conference on the new unitary patent system, I thought readers might like to know that there will also be a conference in Milan, at the University of Milano-Bicocca, to be held on Friday 27 September 2013.

The conference is supported by the European Commission Representation in Italy, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property – Italian Group (AIPPI).

Conference – Perspectives on the Unitary (EU) Patent System

Summer school in forensic linguistic analysis

800px-14-02-21-mainz-RalfR-58The International Summer School in Forensic Linguistic Analysis, founded in 2000 by Prof. Malcolm Coulthard, addresses topics to do with the role, shape and evidential value of language in legal and forensic contexts.

It was created in response to a growing demand for a course affording an overview of forensic linguistics while also laying solid foundations for a further study of this relatively new branch of applied linguistics.
