Conference – New Challenges for Forensic Linguists

words-speechThe University of Porto, Portugal will host the 13th Biennial Conference of the International Association of Forensic Linguists on the theme of New Challenges for Forensic Linguists.

The conference, which is organized jointly by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Law, aims to engage the participants in the debate of the new challenges for Forensic Linguists and Forensic Linguistics, and will be held from 10 to 14 July 2017.

Webinar – Japanese contracts Part III

japanese-shipeCPD Webinars is organizing “Translating Japanese Contracts III: Plain sailing – Setting a course for success” on 15 November 2016 at 11.30 am UK time. It is the third webinar in this series.

The session is designed for in-house and self-employed Japanese-English translators who are either already working in law or considering working in law,  and translators who are working at quite a high level already but are interested in improving their skills and prepared to invest time and resources to do so.

Happy International Translation Day 2016!

jmt_2_a2_300-1International Translation Day / la Journée mondiale de la traduction is an annual initiative of the FIT (Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs / International Federation of Translators) – an international grouping of associations of translators, interpreters and terminologists. More than 100 professional associations and training institutes are affiliated, representing more than 80,000 translators in 55 countries. The goal of the Federation is to promote professionalism in the disciplines it represents.
