Actually ‘paradise’ is just my interpretation đ –Â Language and the Law â Bridging the Gaps is the first international conference to be jointly sponsored by ALIDI (the newly formed Association for Language and Law for Speakers of Portuguese) and the IAFL (International Association of Forensic Linguists). The official languages of the Conference will be English and Portuguese.
The conference will be hosted at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in FlorianĂłpolis, Brazil.
A call for papers, posters, themed colloquia and roundtables is currently being made – topics include the following indicative but not exclusive list:





The Institute of Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University is to hold the Eighth Conference on Legal Translation and Legal Linguistics. The aim is to provide a forum for discussion in those scientific fields where linguistic and legal interests converge, and to facilitate integration between linguists, computer scientists and lawyers from all around the world.
The Third International Conference on Law, Translation and Culture (LTC3), organized by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, is to be held in Hangzhou, China from 31 May to 2 June 2013.
The UK’s Association of Police and Court Interpreters (APCI) is organizing its first international conference, as well as hosting the 3rd General Assembly of the European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association (EULITA). The conference is to be held in London, at Canary Wharf from 5-6 April 2013. There will be pre-conference drinks the evening before.
