The European Commission has recently published a report on Translation and intellectual property rights.
The law firm Bird & Bird LLP was commissioned for the study, which aims to provide an overview of some of the main intellectual property right issues relevant to the domain of translation, including in the field of machine-aided translations.

Regular readers may have noticed the links at the top left of this blog to two surveys – one for those commissioning/buying legal translations, and the other for freelance legal translators.
The surveys form part of a PhD project, and I am now about to close them and write up the results.

I have just found out that tomorrow, June 4, 2014 from 12 – 2 pm, the Ontario Bar Association is organizing an event entitled “The Obligations and Challenges for French Language Services and Access to Justice,” to be held in Toronto, Canada.
