Legal language workshops in Holland
Stridonium, the professional translators’ association (www.stridonium.com) is organizing three workshops featuring Stuart Bugg, who qualified as an English and New Zealand lawyer and now practises in Germany. The one-day sessions will be run in English.
Online course on Arabic legal translation
eCPD Webinars is running an online legal translation course (Arabic-English, English-Arabic). The course will take the form of three 90-minute training sessions over 3 weeks. Participants are expected to attend all three.

The objective of the webinar is to raise awareness of legal translation problems, language problems in English-Polish translation and to learn strategies for dealing with them.

Luxembourg – Seminar on legal terminology
The Terminology Coordination Unit (DG TRAD) is hosting a seminar on legal terminology starting at 9 am on Friday 29 November 2013, in the Schuman Hemicycle, on the premises of the European Parliament in Luxembourg.
Training – English law course in Nice, France
David Hutchins, of Lexacom English Law Courses, is running a two-day course on Contract law & civil liability, the English legal system, and Company law terminology from 22-23 November 2013.
The course is aimed at legal translators and interpreters but is suitable also for civil code lawyers provided they have the requisiite level of English.

Training – Comment traduire le droit?
The CEntre de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en JuritraductologiE (CERIJE) is holding a one-day training workshop on Friday 22 November 2013 in Paris, entitled “Comment traduire le droit ?“.
The workshop (in French) is aimed at legal translators and interpreters, as well as lawyers performing translations, and the trainer will be Sylvie Monjean-Decaudin, Director of the CERIJE. The number of participants has been limited to ensure that the workshop is participative, and you are therefore encouraged to sign up quickly. The deadline for registrations is Friday 25 October 2013.
