The Department of Justice Canada makes available a very clearly set out 42-page guide to Canada’s System of Justice.
Published in 2015, it provides general information about the origins of the Canadian legal system, updating laws, the Constitution, rights and freedoms, how the courts are organised, civil and criminal cases, the role of the public, and more.

offer a thorough, systematic, and fine-grained description of the core vocabulary of English, derived entirely from corpus data.
If you have a visual way of thinking, you might enjoy a new online tool called Visuwords™ which uses Princeton University’s WordNet, an open-source database built by students and language researchers.
It calls itself a “visual dictionary, visual thesaurus and interactive lexicon”.

The Terminology Coordination Unit at the European Parliament is the publisher of two free e-books, each including twenty interviews with prominent terminologists.

The large accounting and professional services firm Deloitte has just published A guide to pre-insolvency and insolvency proceedings across Europe. The guide gives an overview of the EU Regulation on insolvency, and looks at regimes in 19 European countries (16 EU Member States and 3 non-EU Member States) by distinguishing pre-insolvency proceedings and insolvency proceedings.

The latest issue of The Journal of Specialised Translation (JoSTrans) is now available, including, amongst other things, articles on: the skills needed for legal translation; written translation in criminal proceedings as a separate right; translating in the EU environment; translating the names of official bodies; quality assurance; assessment; and stakeholder involvement in quality.
For some time now, I’ve wanted to draw up a list of journals that publish articles about legal translation and legal interpreting or more generally about language and law. So here it is!
